We are happy to share some  of the comments from speakers and attendees at our last meeting:

“Lovely event. I appreciate the invite to give you my thoughts for how I approach anophthalmic reconstruction.  The setting was intimate and invited engagement. Lead to a great dialogue that I would love to continue. Thanks again!”

"I have had the unique privilege of speaking at IAO on three occasions. Each meeting has been a wonderful opportunity to have a dialogue with an intellectually curious and talented group of professionals, building upon the natural relationship between oculoplastic surgery and ocularistry. I would unequivocally encourage colleagues to accept any opportunity to speak at these well-organized and lively conferences."

“As a family medicine doctor, I place a high value on team-based care, and I have a tremendous amount of appreciation for the work of ocularists. I was honored to be invited to give a presentation at the 2026 annual meeting in San Diego. I gave a talk on HIV and blood-borne virus transmission prevention, and although this may not be a daily consideration in the work of an ocularist, the audience was incredibly engaged and receptive - they asked thought-provoking and meaningful questions, and extrapolated several of the discussion points to apply to their own practice of ocularistry. I truly felt that we were all on the same team, with a shared goal of providing quality care for our patients. I would jump at any chance to attend the annual meeting in the future, and highly recommend all other healthcare professionals to do so as well!

Thank you, IAO!”

“It’s a wonderful experience to get to know the academic side of the teams that help restore the eyes for my patients. I love to be able to come and share some of what I do with the IAO, the medical decision making behind care of children with retinoblastoma, and active research such as liquid biopsy. The partnership it takes to care for patients with eye cancer is astounding and I am so grateful to have that partnership with the IAO

Thank you again! Hope to see you in a few years again in SD!”

“I joined the IAO for good reasons. It’s comprised of a small, friendly group of truly dedicated and highly experienced ocularists. Their affordable meetings offer many NEBO credits in a short timeframe, at great locations. The lectures are thought-provoking, interactive, and always meet my expectations.”
